I had a dream about a house I used to live in. It was an old house and I lived on the third floor, it was kind of like servant quarters. After I had moved out and some years later, I had a dream where I walked into the closet in the back of the room and there was a staircase that ascended into this huge cathedral like room with high ceilings and stained glass windows. I never thought about it being the fourth floor until you mentioned it in your dream. So anyway, as I walked up the stairs, I had this overwhelming feeling of dread, like I didn't belong there and there was something I couldn't see letting me know that I wasn't welcome. As I got to the top of the stairs, I woke up but the feeling of dread had carried over and I woke up scared shitless and happy it was all a dream! I've had a couple of more dreams about that house since and it always feels haunted.
This dream can be interpreted as your subconscious mind exploring unresolved emotions and experiences related to the old house. The fact that you lived in the servant quarters on the third floor suggests a feeling of being marginalized or undervalued in some aspect of your life.
The discovery of the hidden staircase leading to a mysterious, cathedral-like room on the fourth floor represents a deeper level of your psyche that you may not have explored before. The feeling of dread that you experience during your ascent suggests that there may be repressed fears or anxieties associated with this undiscovered aspect of yourself.
The overall feeling of the dream being haunted may be linked to unfinished emotional business or unresolved conflicts from your past. Perhaps it is time to acknowledge and confront these feelings in order to move forward and resolve these issues.
